Digital image collection for APHEUM Frames

About the collection

Faces, biographies and the issues of their time. This collection brings together historical portraits that invite discovery, learning and discussion.

Discover history through portraits

Who has shaped our world? Images for Education brings together 61 historical images from politics, business, art, culture and science. These portraits offer a starting point for exploring life stories, ideas and social change.

Selected by EduStock.org, the images invite viewers to look beyond individual biographies: at artistic movements and scientific theories, political developments and issues such as colonialism and equality. Historical figures can be considered in the context of their time and discussed critically.

The portraits appear in black and white on an APHEUM Frame. At home, they encourage personal exploration of history. Schools and educational institutions can use the collection free of charge and choose images to suit their own teaching priorities.
