APHEUM for Museums
Changing content.
Context directly at the work.
Digitally controlled. With an analogue presence. APHEUM combines the quiet appearance of a framed black-and-white print with centrally controllable exhibition presentation.

Exhibition display rethought

An image carrier that can change — without feeling like a screen.
APHEUM Frames present photography and graphic material in particularly fine grayscale behind anti-reflective museum glass. Motifs, sequences and running times can be controlled via the APHEUM platform. Context can follow the currently displayed image directly via a QR code.
Changing exhibitions
Collection holdings, temporary exhibitions or thematic sequences can be recomposed without printing, replacing or rebuilding each individual image carrier.
Context directly at the work
A QR code leads to texts, audio, video or further information matching the current motif — also in multiple languages.
Centrally controllable
Individual frames, groups or multiple locations can be organised and scheduled through one shared platform.
Wireless operation
Up to twelve months of wireless operation allow free hanging and reduce visible technology in the exhibition.

Frequently asked questions
What museums want to know before a pilot project.
Does APHEUM look like a normal screen?
No. The display is not luminous and is designed for a quiet, print-like perception. The frame and anti-reflective museum glass support its object character.
Do the frames require a permanent power connection?
No. APHEUM Frames operate wirelessly and, depending on use, achieve up to twelve months of runtime. This allows free hanging without visible cables.
Can collection images from the museum be used?
Yes. Museums can upload their own photographs and graphic content, group them into exhibitions and schedule them.
Can the QR context change with the image?
Yes. The QR code can point to dynamic context that is delivered to match the motif currently displayed.
Does APHEUM create the exhibition content?
No. Image files, texts, contextual information and usage rights are provided by the museum. APHEUM handles the technical setup of the frames, collections, platform and QR links, as well as service and support.
What does the annual amount include?
After three years, the annual gross total is 208,25 € for five frames. This includes system use for one collection with QR context per frame, the system licence for five frames, and service and support.
